Since we started we have performed nearly 100 upgrades. Today the most focus is on moving from your existing Standard Edition of QAD to the much more powerful Enterprise Edition.

Upgrade Approach

Enterprise Edition is a significant “step up” from your current Standard Edition. In particular the financial modules have been completely rewritten. This means the upgrade is more challenging and time consuming but the payback in terms of world class financials and significantly more functionality is usually worth the investment.

The move to QAD Enterprise Applications Enterprise Edition is a one off investment and future upgrades will be much easier.

There are two primary approaches to the upgrade with shades of grey between them.

Realignment

This approach entails building a clean Enterprise Edition with the core design modified to take into account your business as it is today.

Often this will mean updates to your chart of accounts, product lines, sites or other key master data.

We then dump from your current system all of the relevant data required including master data such as customers, suppliers and items as well as open orders and inventory balances.  At this time we can tidy up the data as required.

The realignment can give your system much of the benefits of a full reimplementation without the excessive risk, cost and expense normally associated with an ERP implementation.

Technical Upgrade

This approach will bring across all of your data including history. Enterprise Edition has quite a few new requirements so data cleansing in your current Standard Edition is required.

We can run some reports against your existing database to give you an idea of how much work this would be.
