Don’t want system downs to interrupt your day? Monitoring is a set of tools that monitor your QAD system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Kettering Monitoring Identifies potential problems before they become serious and if there is a problem, empowers us to react as fast as possible. In some cases, the issues can be identified and fixed, before you are even aware, they exist.
The architecture of our solution is to install a series of scripts on your system that will securely communicate via SCP back to a Kettering database. Our reporting and alerts are run from this database. The scripts take very little space and have close to zero impact on your system resources.
How it works
Monitor the following 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Operating system issues such as disk space and top active processes
- Hardware issues such as CPU usage and if the system is down altogether
- Database performance and risk factors such as BI file growth, excessively long transactions
- QAD components are running as expected including App Servers, Web Servers, Name Servers etc
- Backups checked
After Imaging will be installed if it isn’t already. This allows for “roll forward” recovery of completed transactions after your last backup in the event of database failure.
Alerts will be sent to us constantly throughout the day and night. Alerts will be prioritised based on urgency. Some will result in a text sent to our help desk for urgent attention and others will be less urgent to be reviewed in business hours.
A monthly report on the performance of your system and suggestions for improvement will be provided.
After every 12 months of monitoring we will work with you to perform a trial restore of your database.
Any issues covered by your QAD maintenance, including system down events, will have calls raised automatically with our Support Desk. These will be fixed in line with our QAD Maintenance agreement. Minor fixes such as trimming BI files will also be done at no additional cost in consultation with you
